    Who am I?

As a young man growing up in the North West Province I have always been fascinated with science. I have always enjoyed discovering new facts about different aspects of life, and knew I was destined for a career in science. I got an opportunity to study a Bachelor of Science degree at the North West University (NWU) where I double majored in Chemistry and Biology. I continued my studies at my alma mater and obtained an honours degree in Microbiology. During my time at NWU I met great people who encouraged me to continue my studies.

In 2008 I was fortunate to be offered a place to continue my studies at IMBM, under the supervision of Prof Don Cowan. So far it has been a learning curve, and I hope to continue pursuing my dream to become a good scientist.

I enjoy a diverse range of music genres from the cool sounds of DJ Fresh to the psychedelic sounds of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I also enjoy reading books and poetry (although I’m doing less of it these days). I also enjoy movies, especially good comedies. I’ve also been known to enjoy a nice constructive debate. I also enjoy spending time with my family, who have constantly supported me and my studies.

    And that’s me in a nutshell…
