I completed my undergraduate degree in molecular biology and biotechnology and honours in biochemistry at the University of Stellenbosch. In 2012 I joined the NRF-DST internship programme and was placed within the Protein Technologies Platform at CSIR Biosciences. There I was involved in bioprocessing a therapeutic peptide for diabetes and also did research on the acceleration of biogas production. In late 2016 i accepted a position at IMBM as administrator, taking over from Dr. Heide Goodman who served the Institute for many years. I have a passion for biotechnology as I believe it could have a great environmental impact and it can improve the health sector. I’m an inquisitive person, a novice hiker and I’m mesmerized by nature when going for walks.
