I am a postdoc working for the South African National Bioinformatics Institute,  investigating the genome of Rooibos and the heterologous expression of plant secondary metabolites.  My academic history includes the PhD from UWC and Honours in Biochemistry from Stellenbosch University. I spent four years at the SABS, developing new methods to detect pathogenic bacteria in food and water..
