Research Project: Food spoilage

Who am I: I was born in Kuruman, Northern Cape and grew up in a small town called Noupoort that is in the Northern Cape as well. I moved to Stellenbosch University and finished my undergraduate degree and later moved to Bloemfontein to finish my PhD in Microbiology. I completed two post-doctoral fellowships at Free State University and later accepted a position as scientific officer in the food Microbiology department. I enjoyed the work there very much and continued what with this line of research when I joined IMBM in November 2018. My research focus is on food spoilage organisms, their interactions which leading to food spoilage and food wastage and methods to curb their effects.
